KIMMO K'OED

Kimmo Timonen did not make the trip with the Flyers to Washington, staying home as the latest victim of the flu bug.

This makes at least seven players who have missed time this season with the flu - if my math is correct.

Several others have played through their illness.

Jeff Carter plans to do that tonight. He has been saddled with flu symptoms since Saturday.

Ossi Vaananen will replace Timonen on defense, but probably will play with Andrew Alberts on the third unit while Randy Jones moves up to the top pairing with Ryan Parent.

Expect Braydon Coburn to get most of the assignments - when possible - against Alex Ovechkin.
