Flyers can clinch tonight

In a playoff clinching scenario that sort of cropped up late in the game here, the Flyers can return to the playoffs tonight with a win coupled with a regulation loss by Carolina to Tampa.

It's a bit of a stretch, but it can happen.

Funny thing is, outside of R.J. Umberger and Denis Tolpeko, who are rooming together here in Pittsburgh, none of the players knew about this possibility.

Umberger and Tolpeko figured it out when cruising the Internet earlier this afternoon, but didn;t tell any of their teammates.

"The most important thing is us winning, right," asked Umberger. "So, why should I tell them. We need to do our jobs and win, and that's the bottom line."

Meanwhile, Scottie Upshall, Steve Downie, Ryan Parent and Tolpeko will be the healthy scratches tonight.

Patrick Thoresen has played so well on the line with Mike Richards and Joffrey Lupl, that he earned a spot in the lineup and knocked Upshall out.

Marty Biron is in net, but you knew that already.

Oh... and there are only two active players in the NHL whose last names begin with the letter "U" and they both play for the Flyers - Umberger and Upshall.

you write this whole entry about how you're going to be updating more, etc... then completely drop the ball when the flyers make it? what's that about?
